Uplifting

There was an article recently that was somewhat uplifting. It was not your usual do gooder story it was about a young kid who was graduating college. I think I have written about it before but I find it kind of neat and I happened across a news story on other kids, young people, who are ahead of their peers. Almost ahead of their time. I believe the article talked about a kid that was like twelve or so and was getting his degree in physics and who was also a black belt in a martial art. It was like a ready made movie or tv series. The news story was talking about a teen who was already practicing medicine. He had shown an aptitude for it when he was really young and his parents had encouraged him so now he was already most of his way through school towards being a doctor. I think both of those kids are inspirational because they really do show what is possible. Yes, I am sure they had high IQs but that doesn’t mean much, there are a lot of people with high IQs who are not really doing much. What the kids are showing is passion and drive.

Those are something that I think it would be good for all of us to have more of. I know that a lot of times I tend to let my mind wander off and not stay focused, which is akin to procrastination. Might even be another form, and we all have been associated with procrastination at one time or another. To get through it you really have to be willing to drive yourself or to find the drive and the passion to move through procrastination and self doubt towards your goals. That is what is most extraordinary about the kids, not their intelligence but there passion and drive.
