Driving really brings to mind insurance. There are so many idiots out there, yes, excluding me. Drivers that really have no business being on the road or even playing with those toy race tracks, they should stick to, perhaps, video game driving only. Why bring up video game driving? I bring it up because many people out there appear to have learned how to drive from there. Thinking about it, if people are going to drive like they are in a video game then insurance makes a whole lot more sense.
I think you can get whiplash injury symptoms from regular driving, sometimes from just accelerating but mostly from the deceleration caused by incompetent drivers. There truly are a lot out there. Drivers that drive a bit below the speed limit are fine, long as they remain in the correct lane, but when they drive a lot below the limit or get in the fast lane and run slow it causes a huge problem for just about everyone else having the misfortune of being on the road with them at the time. They completely impede any regular flow of traffic, causing delays and often accidents.
Each time we go driving it pays to pay a lot of attention to those around you, don’t know if it is just my friends and I but we have been seeing a lot more drivers who put aside their intelligence when they get in the car. They drive like idiots, inconsiderate idiots. I think the inconsiderate part is the main problem, if half the drivers out there made an effort to be just generally considerate of the other drivers on the road, every drive would be a lot more enjoyable and probably much safer. People just forget that, they seem to feel that once they get in the car the rest of the world becomes somebody else’s problem, the inside of the car becomes the limits of their world. That is a complete shame because their now limited world is constantly moving and constantly interacting with many other people’s worlds; wish more people would remember that.

Herd driving is an interesting thing. I did not say a good thing but it is interesting, oh and fairly annoying too. You have most likely experienced it yourself, if not done it yourself. I am curious to know if it is the same in other countries so if you have experienced it let me know I would love to find out if people tend to drive the same all over. Ok, herd driving is basically the tendency for people to bunch up with other cars when driving. They seem to be incapable of driving by themselves. I have never quite understood the reason. Personally it drives me nuts. I would much, much rather be driving by myself or with some space around than in a group of cars where one idiot makes a mistake and everybody pays. Driving in a group is also a lot more stressful and tiring, so why do people do it? I can only point to the herd mentality of cows and sheep.
I went for a fairly long drive this last weekend and couldn’t figure out why I was so much more tired after driving back than after I drove down there. I figured out though that on the way down there were hours when the only car on the road was mine, but on the way back I only had stretches of maybe fifteen to thirty minutes when I was the only car on the road. I had to be a lot more aware on the way back then I did on the way down. When you are driving by yourself you can relax somewhat and just enjoy the drive but when there are other cars around you have to pay close attention to them as drivers are sometimes prone to do stupid things at the most inconvenient of times, especially if you aren’t paying attention to them.

Its somewhat funny, I was just talking to a friend of mine yesterday about drivers and it comes up again. It is such a large part of a lot of our lives that it just makes sense to complain about it. I have a couple of things to complain about here, so yes, this is a rant. A light rant, though. So, don’t worry, it will be over soon.
Driving across the bridge the other day I just about rear ended some idiot in front of me, and almost gave myself whiplash again. There was an accident on the other side of the bridge and, for unexplainable reasons, idiots must slow down when passing an accident that is across a divider and several feet of water. Yeah, didn’t make sense to me either. The guy dropped by about 10 mph. I was really annoyed. I didn’t have to slam on my breaks, but it is good that I actually pay attention to what is around me when I drive instead of staring at accidents across the way that have nothing to do with me. Honestly, anymore if I see an accident on the other side of the road I start to prepare myself because I know, with certainty, that somebody is going to slow down drastically, swerve or do something else that indicates a lack of driving intelligence. What was really sad about the whole thing was that he wasn’t the only one that slowed down a lot, most people around him did too, including drivers in the other lanes.
I think you really have to be careful, especially with what they are saying about many people choosing to drive without insurance now. I don’t think I would do that, just not worth the trouble. Some of these drivers should be taking out double or triple the regular insurance, just based on how they drive. Ok. I am done with my rant. Thanks for listening.

There you are, minding your own business driving along happily and then traffic comes to about a swift stop! You’re wondering, maybe even swearing a bit, what the hey, trying to see around the stopped line of cars before you, wondering why everything’s so slow all of the sudden. Perhaps, after 20 or 30 minutes, give or take 10 or 20, you finally see the problem. An accident. Not even on your side of the street. People are giving themselves whiplash from jerking their heads around in an attempt to see it, and yep, they are slowing down too. It’s a wonder whiplash claims haven’t gone through the roof. Although, they do seem to be on the rise all over.
So, while you’ve been driving recently how often did you have to slam on your brakes to avoid the dumb twit in front of you who braked for no good reason? Yeah, that could cause a bit of pain, especially if they stop suddenly and you rear end them. There are a lot of ways to get whiplash. As a driver, because of the overwhelming amount of clumsy and mentally dead drivers on the road you will see it or will experience it. You could get it from the example above just by turning your head at the wrong moment, or from slamming on your brakes or braking into the idiot ahead of you who’s staring at an accident instead of driving. The same idiot that is probably going to cause another accident for some other idgit to stare at while causing another accident.
It’s upsetting because even little things can cause major pain when driving. Mental pain from dumb drivers is a constant while driving, but physical pain is less so but really no fun when it happens; even a slight case of whiplash hurts. I know from first hand experience.
