I’ve had a few different friends who bought some property a while ago and now wish they hadn’t. One not to long ago and another that bought property a couple of years ago. Both, though, still are trying to get rid of them. Although, right now it can be challenging to sell property. It is really a buyers market, but I think it will be getting to be more and more of a buyers market for a little bit. That is a good thing if you are a buyer, not so good if you are like my friends.

One of them was able to sell their property but had to do it at a loss. Actually thinking about it I’ve known about two or three people in the last few years that had to, or chose to do that. Personally, if I had property I would seriously consider renting at the moment. Trying to sell would be no fun, although there are places and people that are still buying or looking to buy. I want to say that if you are selling, just make sure you get a good deal, but that is hard to do in the current market when every buyer is dear and you might wait months between them. It is a difficult situation that many owners find themselves in. It always fluctuates though, if you didn’t overextend yourself you might be in a good situation. Either way, if you can somehow wait through things I think they will be getting better. My friends wish they didn’t have to wait.

Again, if I had it I think I would be looking for renters. There are a lot of people looking for a place to live right now and renting might be a good supplemental income. My friends didn’t like that idea though, they didn’t want to deal with renters. Of course many renters don’t want to deal with landlords so it works out. There are many horror stories on both sides. I think it would be ok, you just have to get them to give their firstborn as a hostage to their behavior. That was a joke. However, I still like the idea of renting.
