Since it is summer, I want to talk a bit about summer activities, the fun things you can do during the summer. Maybe even some of the not so fun but awesomely crazy ideas for summer adventures. After all, that is what we really want, right? To be able to spend the long winter months telling stories of our summer exploits to our envious family, friends and co-workers?
It really depends on where you are; that is the biggest limit to what you can enjoy during the summer. Although, I think that wherever you are you can still get out during the day and mingle. Walk around the city or find a park or a farmers market or some sort of festival, there always seems to be a festival of some type going on during the summer. I bet that even if you live in a big city that there is a carnival around somewhere close. Those things seem to always pop up. You could try those, or just go hang out at the local coffee shop, notice I did not say McDonalds, and be friendly. If nothing else you could start your own group. Maybe even some sort of weekly group based around this blog. Alright, maybe not. It’s a thought, though!
Ok, so the ideas you have so far aren’t working for you and just aren’t growing any summer plans, well how about skydiving? You could give that a go, or try something closer to the ground and just go for a nice horseback ride. Hiking or bouldering are other options, and if you still have nothing, head to the bookstore. Once there check the local section for sightseeing or tourist guides, you might find yourself fairly surprised at what is just around the corner. You could wander around town window shopping or take your new friends from the coffee shop on a picnic.

Summer appears to be here. The weather is beautiful outside, warm and inviting. Makes me want to go wander around outside for a bit this weekend. Have a lot to do, though, so may multitask and work on stuff outside while enjoying the sunshine.
The thing about summer is that after a cold and snowy winter you almost feel obligated to get outside and wander around. After having been stuck inside pretty much all winter, the outdoors begins to call to you. Even if you aren’t the outdoorsy type. The nicer weather makes a person actually consider getting up in the morning to take a walk or exercise, something like that. Going for hikes on the weekend is much more fun when you aren’t doing it in the snow. You can see the new plants, enjoy the scents of summer, the waterfalls and the forests. You could even go rock climbing if you were so inclined. There are all sorts of activities to do regardless of where you are.
Everybody at the coffee shops starts to move outside and many restaurants begin opening their outdoor areas, so everyone can enjoy the warmth while it’s here. That is important, because you have to store up the sunshine to last you through the winter. Otherwise everyone gets really depressed and despondent during the winter and then they feel depressed during part of their summer, and miss all the fun to be had playing outside. It is much more enjoyable to tackle water sports during the summer than it is during the winter, unless you are a card carrying member of the polar bear club. Even then I bet it is nice to enjoy a slightly warmer swim now and again.
After a long winter you really come to appreciate summer. The winter is good I guess, as it makes me feel more inclined to take advantage of the beautiful days. And, and it is so nice not to be freezing all the time now.

Ask and ye shall receive. Today is absolutely beautiful. Just got back from a short wander around and the birds are singing, light, but warm breeze is blowing. The bees are busy pollinating the flowers, which smell great, by the way. Bugs are flying around doing whatever it is they do, at least while I was walking they weren’t bugging me. I think they were too busy enjoying the sunshine and the warmth.
I was actually able to open up the windows to air the place out a bit without freezing my little but off. Have the music down low enjoying a little bit of it and the bird song. It’s nice and relaxing. I am almost tempted to go find a sun beam and bask in it for a bit. Heck, I might even find one and just bask in it for a bit. I’d probably have to scoot the cat over, but heck he can share it for a while. It is just nice, no other words. I was chilly yesterday and today it is much, much warmer. Just a gorgeous day, and even better, it is supposed to get warmer for the weekend! A nice warm Friday night followed by a beautiful weekend sounds like the break that a lot of people need. I know I do.
The breeze is a nice touch. Keeps things fresh and isn’t really cold. The skies are blue and I honestly don’t have much to complain about today. I am enjoying the sun and thinking about the weekend. Maybe wander over to the farmers market this weekend and see what they have, maybe find something interesting to keep my attention for a bit. If not, at least I will enjoy the change of scenery. Kind of hard to type, just feel like melting into the chair.
